Frequently Asked Questions

Does OMNi certify customers in our area?

OMNi certifies customers across the whole of Ireland and the UK so wherever you are we will endeavour to serve your certification needs.

How soon can OMNi certify us?

The timescale in order to complete an audit can generally vary from customer to customer, due to various factors including customer preparation prior to audit, availability of auditors and customer requirements. However, by contacting us, we will provide an initial audit date. Simply contact Head Office either by phone on (+353) 67 50298 or email [email protected].

How much will OMNi certification cost us?

The number of audit days will vary, depending on what standard you are looking to gain certification for. On receipt of your request OMNi will forward an Audit Application Form, and once this is returned OMNi will issue a formal quotation.

Costs are easily determinable and unlike many certification bodies, there are no application fees, no annual management fees, no hidden costs or additional extras, just the day rate for the number of audit days for your company.

Simply contact Head Office either by phone on (+353) 67 50298 or email [email protected], to receive your free quotation.

What is accreditation and is OMNi accredited?

Accreditation is the action or process of officially recognising an accreditation body as holding the correct competence to perform specific tasks according to standards requirements. It allows for the issuance and awarding of certificates relating to those tasks. OMNi is accredited by INAB (the Irish National Accreditation Board) and therefore is authorised to audit and certify customers against various standards.

INAB is the Irish national body responsible for the accreditation of organisations for specific tasks. OMNi has been independently audited and authorised by INAB to certify companies against ISO 17021-1:2015 and ISO 17065:2012.

How to verify a certificate from OMNi?

Each certificate issued by OMNi holds a QR Code. Simply scan the code on your phone and verify the certificate.

Alternatively, feel free to reach out to Head Office either by phone on (+353) 67 50298 or email [email protected], and we can verify any OMNi Certificate upon request.

We already hold certification from another body, can we transfer to OMNi?

Yes, you can transfer your certification to OMNi.

Simply contact Head Office either by phone on (+353) 67 50298 or email [email protected], and we can provide further information on the transfer process. You can also visit our Transfer page for more details.

How long does an audit take?

The duration of each audit is dependent on the standards being audited along with the complexity of scope, number of sites and staff numbers.

Simply contact Head Office either by phone (+353) 67 50298 or email [email protected], and we can talk you through the process and associated timeline.

How long is an ISO Certificate valid and are there audits during this time?

ISO Certification is valid for three years, however there is a mandatory requirement for an annual audit to be completed in order to maintain certification. After the three years have been completed, if you wish to continue with certification you will go through the recertification process.

Please see the Certification Process page for more details.

Does an ISO Standard have to apply to all departments within a company?

No, an ISO standard does not have to apply to all departments within a company. It is up to an organisation to define the scope of certification they wish to gain certification for. The scope outlines what processes, activities, products, and services are included. Many companies certify specific divisions, sites, or functions rather than the entire organisation.

Can OMNi help with implementing an ISO management system?

No, as an accredited certification body, OMNi must remain completely independent from the implementation of management systems in order to avoid any conflict of interest and remain completely impartial. Many companies use consultants for implementation, while some are able to build and maintain their own systems internally.

Can OMNi refuse certification?

Yes, OMNi can refuse to offer certification to a customer if OMNi does not hold the relevant accreditation or offer the services requested. However, we will work with you in order to determine if it would be possible for us to extend our accreditation to suit your needs, though this is dependent on our accreditation body and may take some time.

How often will OMNi audit us?

This depends on the client and the standards to be audited. However, there is a minimum of an annual audit required to maintain certification of all standards OMNi audits. Please see the Certification Process page for more details on the audit cycle.
